Goals of the Youth Ministry
Come to church…
WE think worship is a vital part of a disciple so students need to go to worship, once they get to college they are no longer going to have their parents to remind them, wake them up to go to church, so they need to have the discipline and desire to go to church even when they have to go by themselves.
Pray out Loud
Do you know how to quiet a loud room of people?? Ask someone to pray… Suddenly everyone is quiet… We want our students to volunteer to pray and enjoy talking to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, in and out of the church doors.
Bring Friends
Our teenagers have friends, we are hoping they will be so excited about Jesus and so excited about what is going on here at Fairview that they are so eager to bring their friends.
Share their Testimony
God has done amazing things in all of our lives, sharing that with people is powerful and a great way to share your faith with someone. It is very important to be able to share your story and what God has done in your life so that you can share that with others and share Jesus Christ with others like HE tells us to do.
Daily Quiet Time
Spending time with God daily is a part of our walk with Christ. We are encouraging students to do this, and keeping them accountable through small groups and encouraging them to keep each other accountable with staying in HIs word, spending time with the Lord and one thing we started this summer after trips was to give out devotions to students.
Involved in Leadership
Christianity is not about what we can receive, but our relationship with Christ and how we serve others in His name. We think it is important as a disciple to serve others, to take the next step from just receiving but also leading and serving others. There are great christian organizations at schools, in the community, and at church that we hope our students are getting involved in. Also we hope they get involved in youth leadership here at fairview.
