Volunteers are badly needed to help out with the English as a Second Language class. We meet on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. The only qualification you need is to speak English and love the Lord. If you would like to meet a lot of wonderful people and have a lot of fun, please join us. You can contact Martha McClard at 803-279-0802 for more information.
******FAIRVIEW WOMEN******
Girls Night Live is a night to enjoy great music, laugh till you cry, and be encouraged in your relationship with God and friends. Bring the special women in your life together for a music filled night that lifts your spirits, connects you on a deeper level, and reminds you that no matter what you are going through, YOU ARE NOT ALONE!! Girls Night Live presented by Food for the Hungry featuring Mandisa, Britt Nicole and Anita Renfroe will be at the USC Aiken Convocation Center on March 30, 2012 at 8pm. Since we have already purchased 15 tickets, a ticket is only $20, instead of $35. (We can try to get more if we need to.) Girls Night Live is a night no girl should miss. Invite your girlfriends because this will be a God sized party that will send you home feeling stronger!! Please contact Kristin Robinson at 770-301-0397 no later than Wednesday, March 14 if you are able to join us.
Building on our Blessings: It’s Not Just Another Yard Sale!
God has blessed Fairview’s congregation abundantly - so abundantly in fact that we often take our material blessings for granted until they take up too much closet space! We can simplify our lives and turn these blessings back over to the use of God through the church. In order to “recycle” some of our material blessings, Fairview will be holding a sale of donated items on Saturday, April 28.
All of the proceeds of the sale will go toward paying down Fairview’s mortgage.
If you would like to be part of the fun, we are looking for willing hearts to donate goods for sale and willing hands to volunteer in the process. We will begin accepting donations for the sale in the unfinished room under the Fellowship Hall on Saturday mornings and Wednesday evenings from March 10 to April 14th.
What can you donate? Anything that is clean and in good working or wearable condition. Donors will receive a receipt for their goods and all donations are final. Categories include: furniture, linens, tableware (china, crystal, flatware), carpets, appliances, gardening items, lamps, media (tapes, books, dvd, cds, or vhs), art, antiques, home decorating, arts & crafts, tools, clothing, accessories, costume jewelry, and miscellaneous whatsits. (We do ask that you save any donations of children’s items for the ECC semi-annual consignment sale).
Interested in volunteering? You can volunteer for one day or for one week or for the entire shindig: We need people to accept goods on stated days and write receipts… or to sort and ticket items… or set up the sales area… or act as cashiers and helpers on the day of the sale…. or clean up after the sale. We need Fairview’s people to roll up their shirt sleeves to help pay down Fairview’s debt! Fairview is built on the blessings given us by God. If you are interested in giving your donations or giving your time to help pay down our mortgage, contact Kate Jacobsen (279-9759) or Jean Jones (279-1304)
“Sing to the Lord a new song, sing to the Lord all the earth, Sing to the Lord, praise his name…”
Psalm 96: 1-2
The Women’s Ministry at Fairview is singing a new song to the Lord in 2012. Over the years, God has led us in many wonderful directions, teaching us more about Him and how to serve the community and beyond. Today God has given us a new song to sing, a new direction to follow, to show His love and grace beyond the walls of Fairview.
After two glorious meetings of the Women of Fairview, a steering committee has been formed to be your contacts and “your ears.” Let them know where God is leading you personally and what He has spoken to your heart as a vision to grow the Women’s Ministry at Fairview. Please contact any of the following members of the steering committee-this is your ministry and we are here to facilitate your needs in His name. Pray as you consider your vision and pray for this ministry.

“Connecting women to women and women to Christ!”
A copy of "Diary of a Wimpy Kid, the Ugly Truth" was found near the adult library before Christmas. If this is your book, please call the church office or Alice Hester (279-8586).
MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR SOUP KITCHEN on Tuesday, March 20th and call or email Sarah Lawson (278-0651/sjl33lawson@comcast.net) so she knows you will be there. We need 9 volunteers from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 pm to prepare and serve the food. The Masters Table is at 704 Fenwick St, Augusta, GA. Approximately 300 people are fed daily by volunteers like us from Fairview. Newcomers are welcome. Praise God for our wonderful volunteers for January: Robert Lance, Paul Gesche, Verlon & Chris McDowell, Duane Perry and Eddie & Rhonda Hipp.
We are thankful for those who provided and served a wonderful meal to our friends at GAP on GREENE last Sunday. Blessings to Elane & Donnie Casteen, Charisse Chiba, Leslie and Thomas Edison, Suzanne and Wyatt Friend, Donna and Larry Herring, Donna and Patrick Jackson, Julie Jordan, Duane Perry and Martha Ponder. Your commitment to this ministry is a tremendous blessing.
